Too bad most of it is a waste of money. You can pretty much get 95% of the performance for about $1200 if you do it right. Well maybe $1500, since 2 x GTX480 costs about $900. Alot of the stuff included are not even needed for performance either. Especially if you just OC some of the components. lol. If the system is going to be used for stuff other than gaming it may be worth while to get the 980x, but for gaming even a i7 920 OC'ed will give the same results. Saving 700$ right there alone. Then if you trade out the 2 x Ares for 2x GTX480 you save another $1700. 1200w PSU is huge overkill as well, so you could save another 2-$300 there. SSD's are still way to expensive, so take off another $600. The ram is also a waste, since you can get DDR-3 1600 for about $300 less and will be hardly noticable, and could probally still be OC'ed to 2000mhz anyway if you get OC friendly ram that can handle those speeds. Don't need ram coolers either.

There is even more ways to shave the price without sacrificing performance as well. Motherboard, soundcard, liquid cooling case could all be swapped to save money without losing performance as well. There are cheaper components that can do the job just as good. I just took off $3600 on the fly and the performance game wise would be the same, or really close. If I really wanted too, I could probally drop another $1000 off this.

yea it really is a waste of money for the most part, just spend $1,500 and overclock your stuff and a system could come pretty close to matching this one.
and i'd definitely rather grab a caviar black still over an SSD just for the price per performance ratio there as well.
